Systems Integration

Integrate- to electronically exchange information between two or more systems.

At Trinity Logistics, we can integrate our TMS with whichever ERP or accounting system you use, whether it was purchased from a vendor or custom-built by your IT department.

There are two types of integration communication: one-way and two-way. One-way communication is when information is sent from one system to the other, but no information is returned. Two-way communication is when information is sent from one system to the other, and then new information is returned.

By integrating our TMS with your enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, your accounting system, and your carriers’ tracking systems, many of your daily processes that are performed manually can become automated, allowing you to manage by exception.

Below is an example of how an integration scenario could work:

Customer integrates our TMS with their ERP and accounting systems and has their carriers set up on EDI (electronic data interchange).

Customer enters their order into their ERP. Shipment information is automatically transferred to our TMS. Customer performs their procurement processes (rating, carrier selection, and tendering) in the TMS either automatically or manually. Carriers accept tenders and send tracking messages and invoices automatically through EDI. The TMS automatically alerts the customer to rejected tenders, tracking issues, and invoice discrepancies. All invoices without discrepancies are automatically approved and transferred to the customer’s accounting system for payment.
